    Having over 20 years in the industry as both an appraiser and a construction project manager, my expertise comes from a lifetime of involvement in Coastal Virginia real estate, carrying a legacy of 70 years of insight and experience in Coastal Virginia real estate. I attribute my success to instinct imparted by a lifetime of first hand perspective.

    President Emeritus

    Our president emeritus, who brought together all the tools we have in our chest.  Bill began as a loan officer after attending the University of Virginia, eventually becoming a broker, appraiser, and Class A builder. He expanded the family business into the multi-faceted conglomerate the Shield Companies represent today.

    I began my career early within my family under my grandfather Nick Gratakis, an MAI certified general appraiser, working on large project valuation including mass appraisal and right-of-way imminent domain for both private and public sector clients.  I bring extensive experience handling large projects focusing on data analytics.

    Head Broker, Chief Legal Officer

    I began as an agent and have since become principal broker at Shield Realty. I received my undergraduate from The College William and Mary and my JD from the University of Richmond, with my practice focused on real estate and contract law. I now manage a large portfolio of commercial and residential properties and a team of sales and management agents.
